Erika Pedak

Artist's country of origin: Estonia

Erika Pedak (1948) is a textile artist, she has finished Estonian Art Academy (ERKI 1985) and is an art historian (TÜ 2007). Visiting lecturer in textile history at the Higher Art School Pallas and at the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy. She started her creative work with gobelin knitting, and has worked for a long time in her own authors techniques  using a wide range of materials.


Reacent years artists has been inspired by the natural rural lamb wool of Kihnu ranch and makes large scale rugs with warm water and soap, also designs objects for everyday use.
