Reti Saks

Artist's country of origin: Estonia

Reti Saks (born 1960 in Pärnu) graduated from Estonian State Art Institute Department of Graphics in 1987. She has been a member of the Estonian Artists’ Association since 1991 and has participated in exhibitions since 1983. Her main creative fields are graphics, sculpture, book illustration and book design. She has won many international awards.

Saks is known for her intaglio prints. As she commented on a recent exhibition opening in China: “Sometimes I make selfies in intaglio, in black and white, in landscape format, and send them off to the digital world to take on life of their own. Printed images, classical intaglio, take on the content and flare of the modern computer art while the digital images get deeply tainted by black paint.”

Works in collections: Estonian Art Museum; Tartu Art Museum; Tallinn Art Fund, Tallinn Art Hall, National Library of Estonia; Raisio Museum, Finland; City of Randers, Denmark; Taller Galeria Fort and ADOGI, Cadaques – Barcelona, Spain; Museum of World Gallery of Drawings in Skopje, Macedonia; Vilnius Graphics Centre, Lithuania; Biennial of Duoro, Portugal; A4 Printmakers.com, Cornwall, UK; Gallery of Miniature Arts in Tuzla, Bosnia Hercegovina; Lauderhill Arts Center, U.S.A and many more
