Doll Shelf, 2018

This work is an illustrated book with 24 pictures and short texts. It tells stories about different characters who are something between a human and a doll. Some are confused because of their companions' opinions and some can't live in peace with their body. But others have found the ideal in being a doll. Dolls are in-between objects, not alive but superficially looking like living things. Even more, they are versions we have made of ourselves. By studying differences between dolls and humans one can better define what the notion of 'human' means and see where our understanding of normality comes from.
