Not in Your Own Skin, 2017
Knitted fabric, acrylic, polystyrene, sand, rice, sintepon etc.
Work consists of four three-dimensional textile objects. Each represents different emotional state. It speaks about the various human emotional processes that take place due to external or internal impacts. The main idea was to use visual means of expression and create various forms of abstract images that depict four specific emotional states as human interaction results which are based on the author’s personal observations and experience. Objects surface colour is chosen specifically with the aim to create associations with the diverse tones of human skin but its relief mimics magnified skin textures. Characters are created with the possibility to transform their original shape up to a certain limit, thereby making them more interesting for the viewer.
