The artist´s comment on the artwork:
“Painting for me is like medicine that heals and causes addiction. However, painting is not just depressing me, it helps to realize that in the broad sense, in the context of art history and cultural memory, it reveals the inevitability of being separated from it. For example, when Im painting a dead bird, I can not paint it completely “authentic”, “real”. Because I know how it is been painted by J. S. S. Chardin or M. Borremans before me. My painted bird, in a sense, already contains the energetics of their painted birds.”
