Anastasija Sosunova Emerging artist

Artist's country of origin: Lithuania

Anastasija Sosunova (born 1993) is a visual artist based in Vilnius. She has attained a bachelor’s degree in Graphic arts and has just finished her master’s in the Sculpture department of Vilnius Academy of Arts. Anastasija has participated in group exhibitions and events like: “No Escape for Now”, “A Show as/on (Artistic) Research”, has exhibited het works in various group exhibitions in Europe and beyond. In 2016, she was participating in Rupert’s alternative education program, during which she actively engaged in various projects in Vilnius and other cities in Lithuania. She spent the autumn of 2016 working at the studio of Laure Prouvost in Belgium, where she gained experience in the field of exhibition installation. Anastasija has already exhibited her master project “On behalf of Terra” at the Rupert exhibition during the ArtVilnius fair and soon after that – in the selected Vilnius Academy of Arts graduates’ annual group exhibition “Meno Celės”. The leitmotif of Anastasija’s artistic practice is the framework of humanity’s behaviour regarding the exploration of extra-terrestrial life and the biopolitical aspects surrounding the engineered perception of our planet Earth.
