Gita Sprince Emerging artist
Gita Sprince studied traditional drawing and painting techniques – oil, casein and egg tempera of the respective art areas, and experimented with other materials, specializing in the application of traditional and nontraditional materials. Additionally, she learned photography, printmaking, graphic arts, art pedagogy, tectonics, psychology, art history. She developed creative skills and learned how to use them through new media. In her spare time, she also hand-knit garments – mostly dresses from her own designs. Knitting and painting have always been a big part of her life, and she feels that she can combine them both together in her works. The Art Academy of Latvia has given her the necessary tools and knowledge to develop herself as an artist and an invaluable experience that she could not otherwise obtain.
