Hannah Giese’s work is characterized by its process-based approach and the use of different materials and media in the context of site, culture and nature. She works with installation, video, sound and printmaking. She uses materials like fabric, bread, berries, plexiglas, water, plaster and found objects. In most of her non-permanent installations materials and stories encountered in the urban environment are re-contextualized. In this way, she evokes an interplay of culture and nature, people and art, anonymity and community. Further she questions the interaction between urban environment, the surrounding nature and the position of the viewer. During her Erasmus semester in Tallinn, she made two works that have a significant connection with her stay in Estonia, participating now in the MyEstonia? competition.
