Jyri Ala-Ruona has completed BA studies in Lahti University of Applied Sciences, Institute of Fine Arts in 2011, majoring in painting. In 2019 he is going to complete his MFA studies in the painting department of the Academy of Fine Arts of Uniarts Helsinki. During MFA studies hea has theoretically been predominantly interested in courses considering the possibilities of art in a post-humanistic context. In practical painting courses the main focus for him has been figuration and questions of the surface.
