Martin Rästa Emerging artist

Artist's country of origin: Estonia

Martin Rästa (born 1980) is a graphic designer, an interdisciplinary artist and a musician, who has dedicated majority of his work to the synthesis and integration of visual arts and sound in various experimental forms and mediums. His practice depends on cognitive processes and empirical perception, accompanied by interest in existential questions and technology. Spatial sound installations have become his main medium of expression during recent studies in Estonian Academy of Arts.


Martin has graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts’s new media department and has been actively taking part of exhibitions since 1999 in Estonia, Italy, Germany, France, Finland, Russia and the Baltic States. As a graphic designer, he has received recognition for book designs and poster designs.
