Mattias Malk

Artist's country of origin: Estonia

Mattias Malk (b. 1990) is an Estonian photographer, urbanist and educator who lives and works internationally. He is a co-founder of the Urbiquity platform for creative and visual urbanism, a guest lecturer at the Estonian Academy of Arts, recipient of AHRC funding and a freelance photographer. With an MA in Photography and Urban Cultures from Goldsmiths (Department of Sociology) and a BA in Photography (University of East London and Estonian Academy of Arts) he has exhibited internationally as part of group and individual shows and has had photographs and writings published in numerous publications. Above all his work is interested in urban matters, extracting new knowledge from the built and lived environment and the multiplicity underlying contemporary life.
