Nils Titus Östbrant Emerging artist

Nils Titus Östbrant

Artist's country of origin: Sweden

During my bachelor and master studies I have been experiencing and combining different techniques such as painting, storytelling, performance and immersive digital media such as VR and AR. Combining these really different, both old and new techniques, have made it possible for me to get a unique way to tell stories. The stories I tell are about the history, present and future of our western christian culture and of patriarchal and matriarchal theories. I want people who experience my art to perceive new insights and to question our own and other cultures. I was born in Gotland, Sweden in 1991 and moved to Finland to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in 2015. Most importent exhibitions have been Constellations, Exhibition Laboratory, Helsinki 2017. Performance “The Animal Lovers”, Lapsody Festival, Theatre Academy, Helsinki 2019 Sub Rosa, with Teresa Kari, Exhibition Laboratory Project Room, Helsinki 2021
