Paola Fernanda Guzmán Figueroa (b. 1992) is a Colombian visual artist based in Helsinki that mainly works with film, installations and time-based arts. Her works reflects and rises themes connected to time changing, migration and transnational objects. When she departed from her home country Colombia to Finland, she left an aquarium at home. Since then, Paola has experimented and included it in her art as a tool for visual and experience encounterings. Her performance Time Travel has been shown in cities like Madrid, Helsinki and Bogotá. She has a BA degree in Visual Arts that she completed in Bogota, Colombia. During this degree, she did exchange studies in the Film and Television Department of Aalto University, where she strengthened my knowledge and skills on filmmaking and scenography. Later on, she applied to study her second bachelor degree and Master´s at Kuvataideakatemia. In 2019 she graduated from her BA and currently, she is finishing her Master’s program in “Time and Space Arts”. Paola is one of the Co-Founders of the artist film collective Kino Club Helsinki that has been running since 2017.
