The artist´s comment on the artwork: “Through the concept of the “Savage mind” by Claude Levi-Strauss, intuitive access to objects in nature is an essential moment in my work. Interpreting the elements of the landscape and linking them to methods of the old master’s work develops a dialogue between centuries-old traditions and personal insights. The metamorphoses of the object define new meanings.
This raises questions about the longevity of the work of art, experiments which leads to finding an individual character and using it as a language for expressing ideas. Is the “savage mind” model still possible in the modern world of media and technological advancement? Looking from the perspective of the present to time-tested methods of cognition in order to rationalize the environment and phenomena, aren’t we becoming more distant from our fundamental mentality?”
