Chant of the Printing Machine, 2019

1000x100cm

dry point, paper

By recording the sounds of the print machine gears and visualising them in animation using the drypoint technique, the author removes the concept of repetition associated with printmaking, and the random alterations that occur in the printing process give the animation more life thus merging two dynamically opposite art forms - animation and printmaking. By collecting all printed animation frames in one book, author lets the viewer evaluate each drypoint frame by frame, allowing to see details.
