Object - The Doll , 2016

76 x 10 cm

Doll: hand-built Australian porcelain, ball joints, china paint, glazes, human hair wig, leather. Costume & Acccessories: cast bronze, fabrics.

A collection of porcelain nymphete-like dolls is blurring the lines between art and toys. The author has an interest in ball jointed dolls, their craft and scope of their visual expression which suit the desire of passiveness, mobility and personalization. The work analyzes the themes of authenticity and imitation, where the body is interpreted as a wearable identity.
