The Tree, 2016

610 x 835 cm

Woodcut

The artist created a sense of the image growing as a tree. The experience related to it is fragmented as well – the presence of people, events, isolated in time from one another, forms the range of information and senses she perceives in it.

There is a vague boundary between the real and the imaginary in the attitudes of the human mind made by interaction of matter and memory. As a result of emotionally sensitive perception of the physical world, mind develops special meanings and values in objects. Or is it possible that these values exist not only in human perception, but they are an actual presence of experiences in physical objects? The technical process relates to the constructions of her perception and senses towards depicted object. When standing next to the tree or below it, the ratio between the size of human body and the tree determines the sense of its presence.
