The theme of the exhibition is the author's illness, the inability to pass cars on the street without taking them with him, even as a photo. Everyone is a sign in one way or another: a design icon, a cultural symbol, a more unique or just a local nostalgia instrument. All photos were taken with a pocket camera and shamelessly used Instagram filters and formats.

Cars have fascinated Dan Mikkin since he was a boy and rather as design objects. He doesn’t care so much about what’s going on under the hood: From the age of 10, I have been collecting car models that I still make and taking pictures of individuals I meet on the streets of different cities. More and more high-quality telephone cameras have changed the picture format, a tiny lens is always included. I set myself the task of recording the constantly accumulating material so that it would not have an accidental effect. That’s how the #carspotting series was born. “

Today, Dan Mikkin’s relationship with cars has become more controversial. The initial fascination has been replaced by the knowledge that they pollute cities and villages both visually and physically and take away space that should belong to people.
