Awareness of disappearance, 2019

84x59cm

Silkscreen print / paper / ink

The human need for self-identification leads to a decision that determines one’s position within the limits of a norm that are accepted by the society to function successfully within it. When crossing the border of acceptance, a person risks becoming excluded, persecuted, or sharply criticized by society. This increases the inability to abandon the model of perception of the world around us. Especially when it is related to faith, religion, ideology, culture, customs, general social norms, and other aspects of human life accepted in society – fundamental cornerstones of personality. (core beliefs). Followers of ideologies can be destructive towards others and themselves. Under the influence of conviction, one can silence the basic instinct of self-preservation by sacrificing one’s life in the name of the great truth. Thus, it can be concluded that the elements that form a person can be very persistent. On the other hand, as a result of the discovery of an important truth, one can disappear completely, thus revealing the true nature of man.
