Finnish Sauna
I have two brothers. When we were smaller, we use to play one game – the Hamburger. Rules are really simple, you just have to lay down on top of each other. The one who is under, of course, is a loser. I preferreed to be cutlet not bread.
Wise men say – it´s better to stand with bronze not silver medal on the honorary pedestal. Desire for gold is too overwhelming, it´s better to stay as the third one.”

Somu pirts
Man ir divi brāļi. Kad bijām mazāki, mums patika spēle Hamburgeris.
Tās noteikumi ir pavisam vienkārši, trijatā jāuztaisa kārtojums, noguļoties vienam virs otra. Tas, kas apakšā, protams, ir zaudētājs. Šķiet, man labāk patika būt kotletei, nevis maizītei.
Prātīgi cilvēki saka - uz goda pjedestāla labāk stāvēt ar bronzas medaļu, nevis sudraba. Smeldze pēc zelta ir pārāk nomācoša, labāk palikt kā trešajam.

Soome saun
Mul on kaks venda. Kui olime väiksemad, mängisime me üht mängu – Hamburgerit. Reeglid olid väga lihtsad – peab lihtsalt üksteise seljas lamama. See, kes on kõige all, jääb muidugi kaotajaks. Mina tahtsin olla kotlet, mitte sai. Tark ütleb – pjedestaalil on parem olla pronks kui hõbe, kulla ihalus on nagunii liiga suur, parem juba olla kolmas."

The artwork is participating in MyEstonia? competition
'My Estonia?' calls for reflections on Estonia through the eyes of foreigners. For some participants, Estonia might be a chapter of their lives, for others it may evoke more arbitrary associations or Malevich “Black Square” type of interpretations - all in all, the competition looks for a wide array of playful approaches.

A selection of works from the competition participated in  ArtVilnius ´18 on 7-9 June 2018.
Online voting to identify the winner of the Public Choice Award took place at NOAR.eu art platform from 28 June until 12 July. See all participating artworks and the results of the competition HERE!

NB! As the purpose of the competition is not commercial, the participating artworks are not sold through NOAR. Nevertheless, prices are indicated as in case you would purchase any of the artworks, we are happy to put you in touch with the artist to agree on terms of purchase, delivery, etc.
