‘IT IS NO LONGER I’ reflects on the event of an encounter: The sensing of ‘an other’. If ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’, ‘IT IS NO LONGER I’ recognizes the other –in Matter–, as being not only part of our aesthetic experience, but an active participant that has a vibrancy of its own: ‘IT’ persists on being, ‘IT’ returns our gaze. Moving in between mediums, this body of work can be seen as a practice of attunement –understood as sensing and connection– an attempt in times of alienation to get closer to accessing the one reality that escapes us: that of Matter, or another, experiencing Us.
