The work captures The Latgale branch collective at the Art Academy of Latvia. The artist refers to the «Feast» of the ancient Greek philosopher Plato, that connects art and everyday life, spiritual and material in a unique experience. Twelve personalities were depicted in the work. From ancient times, it was believed that the number 12 rules the world order. It is found in everything from the mythology of various nationalities of the world to modern time control systems. This number can be found in ancient Egyptian, Vedic, Chinese, pagan and European symbolism. Since ancient times, Twelve has been considered the perfect number, symbolizing perfection, integrity. In the Bible, the number 12 plays a leading role and symbolizes perfection. The work is based on the technique of classical painting, due to which it emphasises the value of the artistic heritage of the old masters and preserves traditions.
