Inari Sandell Noor kunstnik

Inari Sandell (b. 1991 in Lahti, Finland) is a Helsinki-based visual artist from Finland with a background in photography and expanding interests in installation, textile art, sculpture and moving image. They hold a BFA in Photography from Turku Arts Academy at University of Applied Sciences (2016), BA in Media Studies from University of Turku (2020) and are currently studying in the Time and Space Arts MFA programme at Uniarts Helsinki. Inari’s latest solo show, Gravity Blanket, was recently seen at Titanik gallery in Turku, and part of the work was shown in Kuvan Kevät 2021 at Exhibition Laboratory, Helsinki. Previous exhibitions include Life Be Like (2016) at Photographic Centre Peri, features in curated group shows at galleries including SIC, Gallery Å, Jukka Male Museum, and site-specific projects like H2Ö Festival. Inari has self-published three photography zines #forever (2016, together with Mortti Saarnia), Memorials (2015) and Temples (2015), which was selected for the Photobook exhibition at Athens Photo Festival 2016 in Benaki Museum, Athens. Their work can be found in the collections of Suomen Taideyhdistys (Finnish Art Society), HUS (Helsinki University Hospital) Arts Collection and Wäinö Aaltonen Museum, as well as private collections. Since 2017 Inari has also worked as a freelance curator, most notably for Photographic Centre Peri for two exhibitions; Joki, jota ei voi koskettaa by Julius Töyrylä (2018) and TOO MUCH (2017), which was co-curated with Hertta Kiiski.
